DONATIONS
Donations to
the Foundation are given for many reasons. Some people give in
memory of family, friends, or classmates. Some is given for a
specific purpose, such as donations to the food pantries in
Salisbury and Brunswick. Some donations are received for a certain
project, such as going into a scholarship fund which is awarded to
students from the Chariton County schools, a gift to the school
which provides computers or playground equipment, or a gift to be
passed along to the Keytesville Swim Club. And some people choose to
give a donation which is matched by their employer.
This year we
received an amount from Missouri Area Health Educations Centers,
which will go towards scholarships for those interested in pursuing
a career in dental health.
Grants were
also received in 2008, such as a grant received from the US Bank in
the amount of $500.00, which was to be placed in the General Fund
for operating expenses of the Foundation.
We received a
grant of $1,000.00 from Pioneer Hi-Bred, a Dupont business. This
grant was to be used to help cover expenses of the MYOB program. We
also received a grant from the Ingram Fund to help with operating
expenses and awards for the MYOB program.
We received
donations exceeding $3,000.00 for the Salisbury Municipal Golf
Course fund. We also received donations in excess of $5,000.00 go be
placed in the Brunswick Clinic Relocation fund.
We also
received donations to be added to the General fund, the Permanent
Endowment fund, the Brunswick School fund, the Northwestern School
fund and the Salisbury School fund.
All donations
are acknowledged with a letter showing that a contribution was made
to a non-profit organization and thus may be used for tax records.
We hope this
explains what your donations do and that you will consider gifting
the Chariton County Community Foundation in the future.
CCCF
SCHOLARSHIPS
CCCF awards several scholarships in May of each year. Applications are made
through the school counselors. The recipients of these scholarships are chosen
by committee members for each scholarship and CCCF is notified by the counselors
at the schools, or by the committee members as to the amount and recipient of
each scholarship. The recipients are then notified by letter and a certificate
is presented during the awards or graduation ceremony.
A check is sent at the beginning of the fall semester to the
school the recipient has chosen to attend. This assures that the
proper school receives the money to be used for the student.
